BB'S STORY:
In January 2019, Brenden Butler (BB) was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a form of pediatric bone cancer that typically affects the limbs, hips and pelvis. His diagnosis is limited to his left foot and has required both chemotherapy for the cancer treatment, as well as surgery. The surgery was successfully performed on May 21 and resulted in a below the knee amputation (BKA) on his left leg. BB started chemo in February and will continue to have chemo through September. BB grew up playing for the Dallas Penguins. He is known as an hard working coachable player who teammates gravitated towards. He is a current Senior at Plano East High School, where he played forward until sidelined with the injury that resulted in his cancer diagnosis.
